New additions of sea slugs (Gastropoda: Heterobranchia) for northern Veracruz and southern Gulf of Mexico

Abstract
The present study provides new records of sea slugs observed in four locations in the northern area of Veracruz: Enmedio reef, Lobo reef, Tuxpan breakwaters and Tampamachoco lagoon; the sightings occurred between July 2022 and July 2024. In total, 12 species of sea slugs were identified, of which three species are new records for the southern Gulf of Mexico, and four are new records for the northern area of Veracruz. These new records contribute to the knowledge of sea slugs in the southern Gulf of Mexico, which has increased favorably in recent years.
