Predation of Centruroides gracilis (Scorpiones: Buthidae) and Rhipicephalus sanguineus (Ixodida: Ixodidae) by Anolis sagrei (Squamata: Anolidae) in Cuba

Abstract
The lizard Anolis sagrei Duméril & Bibron, 1837, preying on the scorpion Centruroides gracilis (Latreille, 1804) and the common dog tick Rhipicephalus sanguineus s. l. is recorded for the first time. Remains of a nymph I of C. gracilis and three adult males of the tick were found in three fecal pellets of this lizard. All the observations were realized in September 2023 in the terrace of an urban residence in San Antonio de los Baños, Artemisa province, Cuba. This lizard is the sixth known predator of R. sanguineus s. l. and C. gracilis in Cuba. Also, this is the third episode of scorpion predation by A. sagrei.
