Abstract
A new case of Turkey Vulture, Cathartes aura (Linnaeus, 1758), with partial leucism is registered for the Cuban archipelago. The observation was made in the Escaleras de Jaruco Protected Natural Landscape area located in the municipalities of Jaruco and San José de las Lajas, in the Heights of Tapaste, in the current province of Mayabeque. The sighting occurred in the morning hours (10:30 a.m.), on the plume of a palma real (Roystonea regia, H.B.K. Cook). This is considered the first record for the western Cuban region and the fourth for the country. The current distribution of leucistic individuals in Cuba includes the regions: western (the present record), central (with two records) and a record dating from the XIX century, where the locality is not specified.
